MESSAGE FROM THE M.D. 
Another hectic month at Ralspeed where we have seen orders increased by some 40% and have still managed to achieve all delivery dates!!.
Due to our ever changing weather - demand for pumps is increasing and with it ways of controlling them – a major pump company uses Ralspeed as a major supplier and has even attended a training course this month to enable them to progress further.
We have also passed a yearly Health & Safety Audit with flying colours.
We look forward to more healthy business and thank all our customers for their continued loyalty.

RETROFITTING DC BRAKES MADE EASY
 Fitting new DC brakes to existing machines can be tricky due to space or older starters.
We expect the TQM2K soft starter to continue in the present format for at least another year and will be
available for spares for several years after that.
Ralspeed manufacture two units to overcome these problems. The first is a IP54 DC brake unit complete with DOL or Star/Delta starters. The unit also has start/stop pushbuttons. All that is needed is the three phase mains to be connected and the motor on the output. The second option is the same unit but has the start/stop push buttons on a flying lead for space saving. This way the main unit can be mounted anywhere you like and the pushbuttons can be mounted at a more convenient place.

RALSPEED PROGRESS WITH SELWOOD
 Selwood, a large pump hire company, have increased their hire fleet using Ralspeeds design and softstarters.
First we designed a complete softstart panel with float indication for high and low level. The units have plug and sockets on the side for quick and simple connection on site. We also made the units in their company colours and are all on stands with drip sheds. We are now updating the units with earth leakage built in and making them compatible with their telemetry units and ultrasonic units that Ralspeed have also designed and manufactured to fit into the same panel arrangement. This has created a family of hire panels that not only function well but gives Selwood the correct image for their customers.

TRAINING IS THE KEY
 Due to the large number of softstarters that are on sites throughout the world Ralspeed can offer in house or site training.
This can be general softstart training or this can be tailored around your requirements.
This very training was done in house for Selwood Pumps. They have a large numbers of units across the UK out on hire and may need to adjust the units for certain applications. We created a training programme just for their needs. Certificates were awarded for every engineer that attended the course.

VSD FOR TESTING
  We have designed and manufactured two Variable Speed Drive test panels (7.5Kw and 15Kw) for a customer so they can function test pumps and fans. The panels are wall mounted and are fitted with an emergency stop button and an emergency stop reset button.
Using a VSD
rather than the soft starter enables the customer to alter the speed of the pump or fan.
