BATTERY BACKUP
 Due to new legislations on building sites it is understood that generators, even silent generators, cannot be run during the night where residents live. These sites found they had problems where new houses and sales offices needed power during these periods. Ralspeed have developed a battery back up unit to fulfil their needs. The generator charges the battery pack during the day using the generator on site. When the generator is switched off the battery back up system takes over and can give out 250watts of power for up to 12 hours on a full charge. This is normally enough to run fax machines, small strip lights, house alarms to name a few. If you want 500watts you can have a double battery pack.

CRUSHING TORQMASTER
 Using the TORQMASTER range of digital soft starters we designed and manufactured a control panel to be used on a Impact Crusher. The soft starter was used on a 300Kw motor that we set up on Voltage control. Within the panel we also fitted starters with sequence control for the hydraulic pack and a conveyor that were going to be used on the crusher.

DC BRAKING CAN BE DONE TWO WAYS
 Ralspeed manufactured two dc brake panels for a large saw mill:
The first one was a complete starter and DC brake unit complete to be used on a 15Kw band saw. We used a DUOSTART 22 soft starter to get the motor safely up to speed and a VB400-100 (100 amps) DC injection brake unit to stop the saw quickly and safely. Both units can be adjusted for maximum benefits to suit the user and machine. Once set up using the simply start stop push buttons will repeat the starting and stopping characteristics exactly each time. For protection and safety we fitted a combined circuit breaker and overload unit.
The second unit was used on an existing starter that was already fitted to the saw and in good working order. We simply fitted a VB400-100 (100 amps) with a braking contactor into an enclosure and wired down to terminals so our client can retro fit this to the existing starter.
